The restaurant & cafe offer terrace seating where you can enjoy beautiful views of the Maruyama River. Please enjoy the menu filled with seasonal dishes using local ingredients.
Next to the museum is a souvenir shop. There are dinosaur and stone goods, regional crafts including Toyooka Kiryu(斜体) Crafts, homemade biscuits and cakes, and more.The museum shop is free of admission.
Genbudo Museum is a facility located near the entrance to the important Genbudo Park geosite, part of the San'in Kaigan Geopark.
It's near Kinosaki Onsen in the northern part of Hyogo prefecture.

Genbudo, one of the most important geological sites of the San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, is a well-known sightseeing spot for its beautiful hexagonal columner joints formed by a volcanic eruption 1.6 million years ago.The five caves are named after Chinese mythological creatures, the most famous being named after a turtle & snakelike creature named Genbu.Genbudo is world-famous for the naming of "Genbugan", Japanese translation of basalt, and the place of the discovery of "Matuyama reversal epoch" which proved the theory of plate tectonics.
